Cleveland-based educator and poet Quartez Harris is the author of the debut full-length collection “We Made It To School Alive” and won the 2nd Annual Grand Tournament competition hosted by Writing Knights.

About the Book

Watch poet Quartez Harris describe scenes of joy, tragedy and keen moments of kid wisdom in the course of 30-some poems. The works all center around Harris’ current and former students at Michael R. White elementary school – a Glenville-area school with 99% minority enrollment, and a majority of Black students.
