Lakewood Public Library will always have room in its burgeoning collection for good old fashioned paper books, but new digital formats have allowed us to expand our holdings far beyond the limits of our physical shelf space. We have partnered with Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla Digital to offer our patrons thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, movies and music titles—all without late fees and using only your library card number.
AudioBookCloud
AudioBookCloud: is an online audio book library collection with unlimited streaming access to the entire collection. No downloads. No software. No holds. No waiting periods. Unlimited access to all the books, all the time. Just click and listen.
The growing collection features over 1,400 titles, including dozens of genres and interest levels. The collection includes popular literature, classics, children’s and teen books, mystery, sci-fi, history, biography, and more. AudioBookCloud has the perfect title for all your listening needs.
Ohio Digital Library
Hundreds of libraries across the state have banded together to share their electronic collections of eBooks and audiobooks, and Lakewood Public Library is proud to be a part of this collaborative. Ohio Digital Library titles can be searched from the Library catalog or directly from Ohio Digital Library.
Hoopla Digital
Hoopla Digital offers a robust collection of movies, TV shows, music albums, comics, eBooks and audiobooks to our library patrons. While many Hoopla titles can be found in the Library catalog, a more complete list can be found by searching Hoopla Digital.
TeenBookCloud
TeenBookCloud is a curated database of e-books and other digital content for middle school and high school readers. The site supports a wide range of readers’ interests and levels.
The growing collection features over 1,000 titles, including student-favorite graphic novels, enhanced e-books with full audio narration and highlighted text, classic literature, national geographic videos, and more. In addition, the new AP English section makes hundreds of curriculum books available to readers at the click of a button.
TumbleBooks
Animated, talking picture books teach kids the joy of reading. TumbleBooks adds music, narration, games, puzzles, quizzes and movement to classic fiction and nonfiction titles to create a new book experience that you can read or have read to you. National Geographic has joined the fun by adding educational videos to existing TumbleBooks.
You can search books by grade level, Lexile level or Accelerated Reader level, explore the Common Core Portal, and even create your own playlist.
TumbleMath
TumbleMath is a comprehensive collection of animated, talking math story books and nonfiction math books available in the TumbleBook format. They align with the Common Core math standards and every title includes practice quizzes. Books can be searched by concept and Common Core standard.
