Only three Americans have held supreme military command in wars critical to the future of the United States and gone on to serve as President. Grant, and Dwight Eisenhower– addressing both the secrets to their success and why we may have dramatically different views of their careers. Steve Pettyjohn is a member of the Cleveland Civil War Round Table, the American Battlefield Trust, Friends of Gettysburg, and the Ohio History Connection.
