Al Roberts (Tom Neal) plays the piano in a cheap New York nightclub. His girlfriend, who is the lead singer there, heads west to seek fame and fortune in the movies. Feeling forsaken, Al decides to hitchhike his way to Hollywood, catch up with her and live happily ever after. But this is film noir, and fate has its say. He ends up with Vera (Ann Savage) an avenging angel who brings new meaning to the term “Femme Fatale.” A discussion will follow the screening.
