Mr. Moser’s Neighborhood: The Intersection of Cleveland and Vaudeville
Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 7:00 pm
Main Library Auditorium

Recall Otto Moser’s pub on East 4th Street? Remember his amazing old photo collection of actors, comedians, acrobats, singers, dancers and magicians that lined the walls? Those images tell the story of Vaudeville—America’s first choice for live entertainment in the era before cinema. During this presentation we’ll discover who those celebrities were, why they all hung out at Otto Moser’s, and where among downtown Cleveland’s sixty-plus theaters they appeared. Numerous short videos of vaudevillians and their performances will also be shown. Chris Roy is a freelance writer who has given numerous lectures and written more than two hundred articles on local history for print, online and broadcast media.
Books will be available for sale and signing at the event.
