Film – Memento (2000) Presented by Barbara Steffek-Hill

Leonard “Lenny” Shelby (Guy Pearce) has extreme short term-memory loss since suffering a severe head injury as a result of the break-in that killed his wife. On the hunt for his wife’s murderer, Lenny keeps track of people and places by constantly writing notes to himself and taking Polaroid pictures. Ever-present Teddy (Joe Pantoliano) was the cop assigned to the case. Under the guise of helping him, Teddy feeds Lenny false clues as to the killer’s identity. Lenny meets barmaid Natalie (Carrie-Anne Moss), who is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her head above water. Lenny takes a chance on Natalie, but after being worked over by her boyfriend, the confusion surrounding Lenny deepens. He no longer believes Teddy and is convinced that he is the real murderer, until Teddy tells him a story that changes everything. Barbara Steffek-Hill presents a series of classic and contemporary films from her personal favorites.
