Teacher Loan and Courier Service

At Lakewood Public Library, we value the teachers in our community and strive to support teachers through our services and collections of materials.  For your convenience, librarians in our Children’s and Youth Services Department will select books and other materials based on your specific classroom needs through our Teacher Loan service, which is available for all teachers of children and teens ages birth through high school.  (Please note that the more details you can provide us about your needed materials, the better we will be able to assist you.)

If you teach or reside in Lakewood, you can have materials delivered to your school or home through our Teacher Loan Courier service.  Deliveries and pickups occur Thursday.  If you wish to have your materials on a day other than Thursday can do an In-Library Pick-Up.  All Teacher Loans may be borrowed for 28 days, and teachers may have up to 100 total items on their Library card.

If you do not qualify for TLC service materials may be held at either the Children’s and Youth Services Desk or the Drive-Up Window located in our parking lot off of Arthur Avenue.  These materials can be borrowed for 14 days and you may have up to 50 total items on your card.

Effective December 1, 2011 all patrons, including individuals to whom a teacher card has been issued, will receive a late fee for overdue items.  The late fee for most items is $ 0.10 per day per item while the late fee for DVDs is $ 0.50 per day per DVD.

To take advantage of these services, you will need to have a Lakewood Public Library card with “Teacher” status.  You may obtain “Teacher” status by filling out a Teacher Registration Form, which can be acquired at the Customer Service Desk at the Main Branch or at the Madison Branch. We ask all teachers to confirm their status annually.

To keep your materials longer, please renew by calling (216) 226-8275,by clicking here: Renew Materials Online, or using the form below.
