The Lakewood Public Library Letterpress Profit: A community art project inspired by the work of D.a. Levy

During National Poetry Month, April 2018, the Lakewood Public Library opened submissions for The Lakewood Public Library Letterpress Profit, a visual art project inspired by the underground newspaper, The Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle, founded by celebrated Cleveland poet D.a. Levy. The display consisted of some examples of The Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle, as well as three submission boxes, one for photography, poetry, and college respectively. The display went up on April 1st, and stayed open for submission until April 30th. We received many wonderful submissions from artists young and old, and with the help of the talented Jocelynn Lash, created a unique art book in the style of The Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle. A PDF of the finished Lakewood Public Library Letterpress Profit is available to print from our website. There will also be a bound copy in the Reference Section of the Main Branch that patrons may look at in the library. Thank you to everyone who participated, the Lakewood Public Library and the community at large are lucky to have such creative spirits in our midst.Explore Letterpress 2018
