Documentary – The Moment (2017)

Directed by Darcy Hennessey Turenne. Presented by Beat Cycles. Freeride is one of the most popular forms of mountain biking. It involves riding a trail in a creative path using tricks and individual style. Freeride biking is closely associated with dirt jumping and downhill biking. However, the direction that mountain biking has headed is one of speed and competition. Although it compares to downhill biking, one of the objectives of freeride is to perform tricks and be creative in your descent. In British Columbia, Canada, three small groups took to the trails to define their own image of the sport. The Moment is the story of how freeride mountain biking came to be and the daring cyclists who challenged the way riding is done. Follow the individuals who paved the way for this daring branch of biking and witness the birth of freeride mountain biking. Ryan Sheldon of Lakewood’s Beat Cycles brings his expertise to the event. Attendees will be gathering at Beat Cycles, 15608 Detroit Road, after the film to continue the conversation.
